There are quite a few Masters of the Bazaar. No one is quite sure how many, since they're always changing their names or switching names or going missing only to reappear a few weeks later. They're a curious lot.
What one can be certain of is that the Masters aren't human. Humans can't Between, after all. They wear concealing crimson robes and white gloves. They speak in high pitches whispers. They seem to have a hunchback... or maybe their robe is concealing wings?
The current known identities of the Masters are as follows:
Master Wines
Lord Ruby, Lord Music, Master Dreams, The Harper
Master Wines claims rulership over the domain of entertainment. In particularly, they specialize in music and wine. They are perhaps the most jovial of the Masters and the one that is the easiest to get an appointment with. Sometimes they hold 'holidays' where they give out free wine. This is unscheduled.
Master Veils
Lord Pearl, Lord Silk, The Weaver
Master Veils specializes in fabric, silk and secrets. They are also the patron of all spiders in the city. In 2945, Master Wines traded them an unknown price in exchange for the realm of dreams. This was incredibly public due to a sudden onset of spider based nightmares.
Master Apples
Lord Emerald, The Farmer
Master Apples governs food, wood and supposedly holds the key to immortality. They haven't sold anyone the secret to eternal life since coming to Pern. Lately, they have been keeping to themselves and have only communicated with Master Veils.
Master Mirrors
Lord Opal
Master Mirrors holds themselves aloft of most of the pernese. No one is quite sure what they govern, since Veils has secrets and Wines has dreams. Rumor has it that if you can pay the price, Mirrors can change your face. It's just a rumor, though.
Master Stones
The Miner, Lord Marble
Master Stones has been enjoying a great deal of popularity with the pernese since finding a market in firestone. They govern all things to do with stone and dabble a bit in jewels and salt as well. Rumor has it they are also Master Iron, but Master Stones takes a great deal of offense to such rumors.
Master Iron
The Smith, Lord Bronze
Master Iron deals in metals of all kinds, something Pern is sincerely lacking in. No one is quite sure where they get their wares. Certainly not from Pern.
Master Eaten
Who?
Other Masters
There are certainly other Masters, but they change their names too quickly for the pernese to keep up with. There are supposedly fifteen in all, though the Masters have refused to give an exact number.
