L'oke

Never believe a word I say
Name: L'oke
Age: 42
Orientation: Homosexual
Gender: Man
Occupation: Enforcer
Squad: Elusive
Lodgings: Dragon Platforms
Appearance:
L'oke is a rather sickly looking man. He has pale skin from decades of living underground and he has dark circles under his green eyes. His hair is long and black, reaching just past his shoulders. He keeps it bound up because otherwise it's a pain in the ass. He's on the slimmer side of muscular and is quick of eye and hand. This is unfortunate for everyone because he likes to steal things.
Personality:
L'oke is an asshole. There's really no dancing around the subject. He's manipulative, a liar, and he simply doesn't care for anyone outside of his small family of Lucine and Bellonath. He sees nothing wrong with befriending someone and then stealing their wallet or setting them up to take the fall for someone he really cares for. Even with the people he actually loves, L'oke is an unabashed liar. He has an easier time lying then telling the truth. When he's caught in a lie, L'oke has a hard time understanding why someone is mad at him. It was just a lie. It's not like he stabbed someone in the face! Naturally, interacting with him is rather hard.
It's not that L'oke doesn't care about his family. He does! A lot, actually. It's just that he tends go off of what he thinks is best rather than their actual feelings. L'oke will happily scare off (or beat up) a bad boyfriend without telling his daughter, only to be baffled when she isn't happy but is instead heartbroken over the disappearance of her significant other. Then he'll be a bit put out over it all and try to cheer her up with gifts. What do you mean people can't be replaced with shiny things? Don't be ridiculous.
L'oke has a taste for the dramatic. He can't resist himself and half the time when acting as an enforcer he ends up acting like a stereotypical harper ballad villain. Except, you know, he wins. He likes making dramatic entries, monologuing and can never resist explaining to people exactly why they suck so bad. He'd probably steal candy from a baby, too. He acknowledges that what he does is wrong, unlike Bellonath, and that the Masters are corrupt monsters. He just doesn't care.
For all of his problems and flaws, L'oke is actually capable of making friends. Quite readily, in fact, as he doesn't actually dislike people. He enjoys the company of others and is always quick to remind his victims that he was just doing his job. There's nothing wrong with enjoying being a glorified thug, right? He'll even go through the motions of apologizing, though his apologies tend to fall far short. L'oke sometimes even deigns to actually care about someone and adopt them into his little 'family', but Bellonath does her best to cut that off at the bud to prevent another Wotan incident.
Despite his cruelty to others and his inappropriate casualness about it, L'oke takes offenses against himself and his family very, very seriously. He is a very vengeful person and he will stop at nothing until he gets revenge or at least a well written apology letter. He can't resist lording his revenge over others either. L'oke is quick to spin tales of being wronged as him being an innocent victim and the other person being a monster, even if he knows that isn't true.
History:
L'oke's childhood was an uninteresting one. His parents had married young out of duty to their families rather than love and had a child for much the same reason and as such were relatively uninterested in the young boy. He spent more time in the home of his neighbors, playing with their sons and eating at their table, then he did in his own. By the time he was old enough to be apprenticed he called the older boy, Wotan, that lived next door brother.
He found an apprenticeship with one of the beastcrafters at the hold and found himself enjoying the career despite his rather unassuming frame. He became adept at working with the canines and runners of the hold to compensate for being physically weakand soon became known for his skills at training animals. He wasn't a master by any means but he was certainly doing well for a teenager.
Wotan was the ambitious sort and he didn't enjoy the life of a holder. He talked his friend into finally leaving the hold with him and with all the headstrong foolishness of the young they set off to see the world with only a pair of runners and not nearly enough supplies. They ran out of marks first. L'oke was the one with the fast hand and silver tongue so he set to work stealing enough for them to get by. When his friend questioned him, he would wave off the accusations. Wotan wasn't exactly innocent either. He had a horrible temper and had gotten them kicked out of a fair share of towns and holds with bar brawls.
They were finally cornered not far from Igen by people that L'oke had stolen from or Wotan had trounced. They managed to escape, but Wotan had taken a serious injury to the eye and L'oke had only narrowly avoided losing a hand. It was after that they finally had their confrontation. It quickly escalated into a screaming match about everything and nothing at all. After the argument finally dwindled down they were forced to acknowledge that the surface was getting too dangerous. They needed to get away for a bit. News of the fallen holds had reached them, of course, and desperate to escape the people that were angry with them they set off. L'oke was only nineteen when they arrived and Wotan only a turn older than him.
Sadly, they arrived without a mark to their name. Not knowingly what else to do, L'oke signed up for candidacy hoping for a warm bed to sleep in while he got enough marks to survive. What he wasn't expecting was for one of the eggs to reveal a strange, black dragon. He definitely wasn't expecting to be the first black rider on all of pern. Wotan Impressed to a brown in the same clutch but L'oke was hardly paying attention. They went their separate ways after that.
Bellonath's clutching abilities kept her under the thumb of the Masters and L'oke was never able to return to the surface. He had a daughter with a random fling, a girl born to the darkness of the Neath, and he involved himself in her life as much as he could while still caring for Bellonath. Bellonath went on to birth new colors and more dragons like herself. L'oke went on with his life, working as an enforcer and showing up at political events as was appropriate for his position as the first of his kind.

Orientation: Bisexual
Age: 23
Length: 30ft
Color: Black
Hex Code: 000000
Appearance:
Bellonath is a sleek, powerful dragon. Despite her slim frame there is nothing delicate about her and everything from the sharp tip of her muzzle to the whip-like length of her tail hints towards danger. She is a relatively average dragon in size, though she leans to being slightly tall for her overall length. Her eyes are small when compared to the rest of her face.
Personality:
Bellonath is the first of her kind, the daughter of the last gold, and the mother of the new colors. It's a heavy title to bear, but Bellonath bears it with as much regality as she can. She's a standoffish dragon at best and cold at worst, holding the world at arms length. Bellonath doesn't like humans in the least. She views them all with contempt, particularly those that come from the surface. Wherhandlers and dragonriders are spared the worst of her hate but even they aren't above criticism. Bellonath has a special hatred for those that dare to treat her children with any sort of prejudice. Shrink from the shadow of a gray and earn a scornful comment. Call a black a queen and earn her eternal hatred. The hierarchy died when Bellonath hatched instead of a gold and she's quick to remind others of it.
Bellonath takes her duties incredibly seriously. She is an enforcer through and through and her loyalty lies squarely with the Masters. She deals with problems efficiently and ruthlessly and spares no mercy for the humans that angered her benefactors. Some have taken to calling her the pet of the Masters. She calls them ingrates. Bellonath isn't able to harm humans but she has destroyed property, killed livestock and on one occasion destroyed someone's home. If the Masters want her to do it, that must mean it's right. She doesn't question them. She'll admit freely that she's more bloodthirsty than the average dragon and she enjoys hurting others to some degree. The humans probably deserved it anyway.
Bellonath is proud of her status as the first of the new colors. She is a very vain dragon and one of the few things that may actually endear a human to her is compliments and gifts. She insists on her clutches being admired and will frequently announce their arrival to the entire Neath, even if it means waking everyone up. She hasn't apologized for it once. She doesn't like being looked over by people talking to L'oke and will sometimes interject herself into conversations for the sake of getting some attention herself. Bellonath likes being the center of attention in general.
Bellonath is quite intelligent and enjoys strategies and riddles. She likes solving puzzles and when she is in a particularly difficult mood L'oke will often distract her with one so he can go about his business without her interfering. Sometimes she will randomly pose riddles to those around her for her own entertainment. Bellonath is one of the few dragons that knows the identities of most of the Masters due to her close relationship with them, but she isn't spilling. Sometimes she gets invited over for klah.
Bellonath is very protective of her offspring. She guards her clutches zealously, demanding that other dragons bring her meals and leaving only rarely. She even checks in on them as they're growing and into adulthood. She sees no problem with kidnapping humans as candidates and in fact insists that such an action is beneficial for the human in question. Bellonath is well aware that her level of attachment is unusual for a dragon but simply doesn't care. She does nothing to stop maulings at her hatchings but does break up fights between hatchlings.
